word-filled wednesday {see and pray} :: i am content

  The Word 2 Corinthians 12:10 (ESV) For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.  The Prayer Father, being content when things go well isn't a challenge.  Being content when things are mildly difficult proves slightly more laborious, more burdensome, but it's not out of reach.  Being content when things are absolutly, positively falling apart proves nearly impossible, virtually exasperating.  Being content through weakness?  When insulted?  During hardships? When persecuted?  In the midst of calamaties?  What?  I've come to realize I'm my own filter when it comes to contentment.  I look at it from the natural standpoint, the human side of things, not the supernatural.  Yes, it is impossible, beyond thought and reach, to deal with all mentioned above when I attempt to do it myself.  For I am but dust.  However, when I realize your strength stands in place of my weakness, it all changes.  It is then I can honestly say "For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong." In Jesus' Name, Amen… The Share If you are joining us today & “Seeing & Praying”  THIS WORD, we’d love to encourage each other on the journey. See & Pray {June Desktop Calendar}

    The Word  Every day he was teaching at the temple. But the chief priests, the teachers of the law and the leaders among the people were trying to kill him. Yet they could not find any way to do it, because all the people hung on his words. Luke 19:48 The Prayer Father, I pray that as we become lovers of Your Word. I pray that we can, as those people who witnessed you hung on to the words of Jesus, that we too can love the Word as it is written such that it changes and transforms our lives and influences the lives of others around us for The Kingdom. We thank you Jesus for your Word. We thank you for the treasure and gift in hearing from You. Lord, we humbly thank you that while we often fail to linger long enough in The Word that you are patient and full of the grace that welcomes us back each and every time. Jesus, we love you!! ~amen The Share If you are joining us today & “Seeing & Praying”  THIS WORD, we’d love to encourage each other on the journey. word-filled wednesday {see and pray} :: do what? be what?

The Word Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. ~ Ephesians 4:32 (NIV) The Prayer Father, this verse stops me in my tracks!  Be kind… Be compassionate… Be forgiving… These are not options ~ they are commands. Being kind to all, regardless of whether the kindness is returned. You've commanded us to be kind ~ period!   As far as compassion, it stretches beyond small children in mission pictures with swelled bellies and dirt floors. The compassion of which You speak should be extended to all regardless of how they make ME FEEL! It's so easy to have compassion for those we deem "worthy" of it. Stretch my compassion to reach beyond, to those who don't seem in need, but who are in GREAT need.  Then, there's forgiveness… YOU forgave me! I was undeserving, yet You forgave me ~ completely, wholly, totally. May I embrace Your forgiveness.  May I offer forgiveness.  May I get passed offenses. May I walk as You walk.  May I live YOUR kindness, compassion and forgiveness. Thank you… In Jesus’ Name, Amen. word-filled wednesday {see and pray} :: the church prayed

The Word But while Peter was in prison, the church prayed very earnestly for him. ~ Acts 12:5 (NLT) The Prayer Father, how often do I come to you with petitions revolving around MY wants, what I need?  Yes, some may be legitimate needs, heart-felt desires which lay like bricks on my heart.  The wants I ask for aren't sinful, nor do they conflict with Your Word.  But what I've noticed is that what I need and what I want tend to be where my prayers end.  I know there are other needs, needs my brothers and sisters carry.  I know there are lives living absent You which are spiraling out of conrol.  I know there are moms and dads who need heavenly reinforcement, unseen strength to deal with the day to day.  What about them?  Are their needs any less important than mine?  Absolutely not!  As the church in Acts, may I intercede for others, not just come to you on my personal behalf.  May I plead for them in Jesus' Name!  May I not forget the power of intercession!  In Jesus’ Name, Amen. {Word Filled Wednesday} May Calendar

The Word Let love and faithfulness never leave you;     bind them around your neck,     write them on the tablet of your heart. Proverbs 3:3 The Prayer Lord, I confess that without you loving others is impossible at times. I also confess that without the power of the Holy Spirit, I am equally unfaithful. I am ever aware Lord of my need for you and for the constant reminder to "bind them around my neck." Jesus, help me. Help me, such that love and faithfulness NEVER leave me. I want to go into the deep water with you!  I want these words to penetrate my heart and be the song of my life. Remind me and convict me when necessary Lord so that each day I draw nearer to you and that it's evident to all who see me that YOUR LOVE and FAITHFULNESS  that I reflect.  The Share If you are joining us today & “Seeing & Praying”  THIS WORD, we’d love to encourage each other on the journey. word-filled wednesday {see and pray} :: perfect timing

The Word When we were utterly helpless, Christ came at just the right time and died for us sinners. Now, most people would not be willing to die for an upright person, though someone might perhaps be willing to die for a person who is especially good. But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. ~ Romans 5:5-8 (NLT) The Prayer Father, our helplessness came from trying to "help" ourselves.  Choosing the forbidden fruit, believing it would "help" us, threw us into a helpless state, a place bound for eternal separation from You.  Yet You, through Your love, mercy and grace, stepped in ~ right in the middle of the engulging gap ~ and offered salvation.  You rescued us from a fate You never wanted for us.  You perfectly timed Your Son's birth, death and resurrection so we could be rescued at the perfectly appointed time. You're never late.  You're never delayed.  You never forget.  Your timing is perfect!  Thank you… In Jesus’ Name, Amen. word-filled wednesday {see and pray} :: i am to do what?

 The Word If your enemies are hungry, give them food to eat.     If they are thirsty, give them water to drink. ~ Proverbs 25:21 (NLT) The Prayer Honestly, Father, the thought of tending to needs of my enemies is a struggle for me. Rather than offering care to one who opposes me, as You would, I tend to rejoice in what I consider their judgement. Instead of looking with compassionate eyes, I sometimes view their situation through eyes of condemnation.  My hurt, disillusionment, and frustration cloud my heart's vision.  I allow my emotions to be my filter, not You.  This is difficult to admit, but it is he truth.  The thing is, that's not how I want to live.  Denying forgiveness and executing judgement eats away at me and in no way honors You.  I fight it, Father!  It seems when I fight it, though, I lose.  I need You to fight it for and through me.  May I see with Your eyes, feel with Your heart, love with Your love.  Enemy or friend ~ it shouldn't make a difference.  You've spoken and I want to harken.  Please live THROUGH me in every and all situations.    In Jesus' Name, Amen… The Share If you are joining us today & “Seeing & Praying”  THIS WORD, we’d love to encourage each other on the journey. word-filled wednesday {see and pray} :: peace = joy

word-filled wednesday {see and pray} :: peace = joy The Word Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy. ~ Proverbs 12:20 (NKJV) The Prayer Oh, that my heart would be filled with peace and joy instead of deceit, Father.  I long to live honestly, uprightly, abhoring evil and dishonesty, embracing  whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, and whatever is admirable.  When I look into a mirror I want to see your reflection, not mine, May you be reflected in all I do and may those in and around my life see you in me.  May I share peace which brings joy.  May I experience joy beyond anything I've ever imagined.  Happiness comes and goes, but your joy is a deep, abiding, sustaining.  That's what I want!  I want to live honestly and above board in all things.   In Jesus' Name, Amen… The Share If you are joining us today & “Seeing & Praying”  THIS WORD, we’d love to encourage each other on the journey. {WFW} see & pray :: i’m only pretending…

The Word God can’t stomach arrogance or pretense; believe me, he’ll put those upstarts in their place. ~ Proverbs 16:5 (MSG) The Prayer Father, I want to live authentically!  I long to be real, honest, without pretense.  I desire to look at all people as you look at them ~ amazingly created beings not props.  Help me to live and see those around me as you see them.  We are either sinners saved by grace or sinners in need of grace ~ no better, no worse.  May piety be my enemy, arrogance my advasary and pretense my opponent.  May I look down on no person, but point them up to you.  I want my life to be a sweet smelling savor, not something which you cannot stomach.  May my eyes see as you see and may my heart love as you love ~ true, transparent, genuine.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen The Share If you are joining us today & “Seeing & Praying”  THIS WORD, we’d love to encourage each other on the journey. {WFW} See & Pray :: God is ALWAYS True to His Word…

The Word Psalm 66:17-20 (NLT) For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.     The Prayer Father, thank you for teaching me to confess!  Thank you for teaching me how important it is to fall on my face before you ~ crying out to you ~ seeking insight into the depths of my heart, my soul.  Is there any unconfessed sin there? Is anthing present which would create or keep distance between us?  Please, show me.  Thank you for teaching me to wait and listen.  For when I ask, you respond.  At times you reveal hidden unforgiveness or tucked away bitterness.  Yet, there are others when you show me resentment I'm harboring or doubt I'm carrying.  When I cry, you always listen.  You ALWAYS listen and reply.  I praise you, Father, for being a God who is true to your word.  Please continue to call me to confession!  May nothing fester in my life and spirit which would keep me from you.  In Jesus' Name, Amen…   Share If you are joining us today & "Seeing & Praying"  THIS WORD, we'd love to encourage each other on the journey.
