{WFW} see & pray :: i’m only pretending…

word filled wednesday, proverbs, see and pray

The Word

God can’t stomach arrogance or pretense; believe me, he’ll put those upstarts in their place. ~ Proverbs 16:5 (MSG)

The Prayer

Father, I want to live authentically!  I long to be real, honest, without pretense.  I desire to look at all people as you look at them ~ amazingly created beings not props.  Help me to live and see those around me as you see them.  We are either sinners saved by grace or sinners in need of grace ~ no better, no worse.  May piety be my enemy, arrogance my advasary and pretense my opponent.  May I look down on no person, but point them up to you.  I want my life to be a sweet smelling savor, not something which you cannot stomach.  May my eyes see as you see and may my heart love as you love ~ true, transparent, genuine.  In Jesus’ Name, Amen
