{Wordfilled Wednesday} Numbered Days

357 Flares 357 Flares ×

The year end is upon us.

Looking back, how would you describe your year?

Did the "One Word" you choose twelve months ago, mark your days and hours of the past 365?

Did the lessons you hoped to learn become realized in teachable moments?

Did you keep to the boundaries you intended?

Did you make time pursue your passions?

Or did you simply survive?

It was a difficult year for many. And difficult doesn't even begin to describe that reality for some.

Mountain top expectations that marked January might have been lost in valley dwelling come September.

But in this year end,  I want to leave you with one question:

Did you number your days?

Lord willing, we are about to close out 2012 and move into 2013. No matter how you lived 2012, are you willing to go forward with a mindset of numbering your days? Are you willing to look at every hour — every moment — with a desire to glorify God as you live a life of impact this year, this day?

To live intentionally does not mean to live perfectly but rather purposefully.

I'm asking you these questions, becaues I've experienced the blessing of living intentionally.  Yet you might be surprised by what I count as a blessing. It isn't that everything I hoped for and planned came true. But rather that I had the opportunity to see God at work!

Oh my, sisters. As I looked back at the words I penned in my Living Intentionally Life Plan twelve months ago, my jaw gapped open wide as I saw how God answered the many desires of my heart and enabled me to honor those priorities I penned in prayer.  I was not only stunned, but humbled.  See, I would have missed the blessings if I had not written them down. I would have looked back at 2013 through lenses blurred by painful trials rather than a picture painted by answered prayer.

God was faithful. Even in the trials.

He is always faithful. But we need to live in such a way as to see it clearly.

I think this, in part, what it looks like to number our days and to gain a heart of wisdom.

So, will you join me in doing so in 2013?

{Welcome to WFW!}

There are very few rules, in fact the beauty of this ministry is the creative expression that God reveals Himself through. We marvel at the creativity that participants post! It's a blessing! We encourage the ” post behind the picture,” or the reflections that many of the participants share. We ask that for WFW that participants refrain from using non-biblical. If you've got the time we also encourage you to visit a few of the WFW contributors! It's always a blessing to see the Scripture and story that creatively appear across the screen.

WFW is not about books, authors, artists… it’s about God and HIS WORD ONLY. WFW is about celebrating the gift of creativity through God’s Word and sharing the creative Word!

Please join us as we share the creative gifts God has blessed us with by signing into to the Link below to participate in WFW.

  2. I love your comment, "living purposefully." I love to encourage fellow grandparents to enjoy our grandkids purposefully – to have fun with them, but also to be proactive in leaving a spiritual legacy of God's love and His Word in their hearts and minds. Thank you for the lovely reminder.  Have a blessed New Year y'all! :)
