A Light in the Darkness

This week we pause and take a collective deep breath in the midst of the holiday season to remember those whose lives have been interrupted in the most grievous of ways. We remember the lives of the children and the heroes lost in Connecticut and the lives of those who live on that will never be the same.

Unimaginable grief.

It is as if darkness has blanketed the world.

We pause and pray today.

It is the only thing to do when words are simply inadequate and the darkness so dark.

We know that the faintest of light rises in the darkest of days. Darkness will not overcome the light.

Today, we bow our heads and beg our faithful and merciful God to send a  flicker of light in unbearable darkness.

If you are joining us for Word Filled Wednesday, we are dedicating this week to the memory of those lives lost in Connecticut. We will resume next week as ususal, but today, we pause and pray.

Lori's daily mantra includes praying, "I will take it Lord, ALL you have to give," and a commitment to live out Colossians 3:17 daily. It's her prayer that the energy that fills her spirit be with her till her dying breath! She lives in the Deep South with her husband of 21 years and her 3 children, where she seeks daily to be creative and use the gifts the Lord has given her. With the heart of an artist and a spirit to live intentionally missional, Lori strives daily to see Him in all that surrounds her. Encouraging women on their daily walk with the Lord is her passion! She attends Vintage 242 church where she is active in women's and children's ministries. Lori can be found at her own personal website, "All You Have to Give." http://www.allyouhavetogive.com

I LOVE this graphic! It is sooo beautiful. What a fitting graphic for such a sad time…a reminder that we do have a light…THE LIGHT.

Continuing to pray so much. And praising God for His light in the midst of an increasingly dark world.

Amen!  We continue to pray for and grieve this horrible tragedy.  Thank you for this beautiful graphic and for this opportunity to pause and pray again.
