{Wordfilled Wednesday} Honoring Christ as Holy

As we approach this holiday season, the Word is gently proding me to remember who Christ is and that implication for my life. Jesus wasn't just a little baby born in a manager. He wasn't only a good man that walked this earth in well-worn sandals. He wasn't a super-hero that died an accidental death.

Jesus, the Lord, was and is and always will be holy.

He was set apart, by God, created to live and breathe and love in human skin and serve and sacrifice and die for human sin.

I want to remember that whole truth especially this Christmas time, living in such a way that I honor Christ in my heart as holy.

Have you pondered lately what it means to honor Christ in your heart as holy, especially during the Christmas season?

Focusing on Christ's holiness settles my spirit. It redirects my focus away from my holiday to do list and back onto the reason I celebrate Christmas in the first place. This is why I'm revisiting what it means to Bring Holy Back to the Holiday in a short series at elisapulliam.com beginning December 3rd and sharing a free devotional 12 Eternal Gifts, at moretobe.com. Come join me in this thoughtful time of seeking God this month and reflecting on the gift of His son!

{Welcome to WFW!}

There are very few rules, in fact the beauty of this ministry is the creative expression that God reveals Himself through. We marvel at the creativity that participants post! It's a blessing! We encourage the ” post behind the picture,” or the reflections that many of the participants share. We ask that for WFW that participants refrain from using non-biblical. If you've got the time we also encourage you to visit a few of the WFW contributors! It's always a blessing to see the Scripture and story that creatively appear across the screen.

WFW is not about books, authors, artists… it’s about God and HIS WORD ONLY. WFW is about celebrating the gift of creativity through God’s Word and sharing the creative Word!

Please join us as we share the creative gifts God has blessed us with by signing into to the Link below to participate in WFW.

  4. Great advice! I love to do Advent projects with my grandkids and remind them often that it's JESUS' birthday and HE's the reason for the season! They enjoy a myriad of activities of all kinds, but still love to turn the lights off, light the tree and the Advent candles and sing a Christmas praise song like "Angels We Have Heard On High" while we talk about the ever special story of Jesus' birth. This year, we're focusing on the Scriptures and stories that led to the writing of some of the carols. Fun for grandma as well as grandkids.

    • What an awesome idea, Kaye! I will have to incoporate that into our traditions one of these years!
