Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.
Romans 12:2 (The Message)
What does saying yes to Jesus look like?
Blending in with the rest of the bunch?
Not if we take that “yes” seriously. Much like the peaches that I picked off the tree this week, there were a few that stood out. There were a few that just looked different. Mind you, the rest were fine and in fact most of them weren’t rotten in any way, they just didn’t “stand out.”
“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it. “Matthew 7:13-14
We too stand out when we begin obeying and actively responding to the nudges that are asking us to move or act in ways that are continually against the grain of conventional culture. He desires to bring out the “best in us.” Of course He does, HE created us! He wants us to move in the ways of His son, the ultimate stand out, but let’s be real, standing out is hard. Standing out makes you, well, stand out. It means saying “no” to the crowd and saying “no” to the ways of the world and “yes” to the ways of the Word.
Have you asked yourself lately, do I stand out?
Would Jesus recognize me as a standout or am I blending in a bit too much?

Welcome to WFW!
There are very few rules, in fact the beauty of this ministry is the creative expression that God reveals Himself thorough. We marvel at the creativity that participants post with this meme. We encourage the ” post behind the picture,” or the reflections that many of the participants share. We ask that non-biblical resources not be used.
WFW is not about books, authors, artists.. it’s about God and HIS WORD ONLY. WFW is about celebrating the gift of creativity through God’s Word.

Blessings PEACHY Lori… that’s YOU standing out!!! Shining! Vividly colored with the glow of His Spirit! Mature! Ripe for the pickin’…hoping that when I mature I look just like you… I mean we look much like Him! So glad that we’re not rotten and He works from the inside out! My pit is not as bad as it use to be, so I’m sure new fruit is on the horizon. Enjoyed reading this from The Message! Takes on a new focus. I love the work you did on the photo and the graphics… you do bring out the best, too! God brings out the BEST as He continues developing us in His image… well formed! The fruit from up there looks so much healthier and yet much more available here, usually a great price. I should be eating much more fruit. Have a fruitful and blessed day!
Peace, JOY and love,
Peggy

What a great translation. “The Lord wants to bring out maturity in us.” I like that. I sure don’t want to be one of those unripe peaches. Yuck.
Blessings,
Janis

Gorgeous image. The verse is a great reminder. It’s so easy to blend in but lives aren’t changed that way. Thanks for this amazing post, yet again.
