WFW – no spiritual flabbiness, please!

WFW today is done by : For Susan @ Forever His!

Godliness

Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. This is why we’ve thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We’re banking on the living God, Savior of all men and women, especially believers.   (I Tim. 4:7 The Message)

As we approach the New Year everyone is in the mood to make some resolutions.  What better time then now to decide that your highest priority will be to seek after Him with a greater zeal and determination then ever before!

Welcome to WFW!

There are very few rules, in fact the beauty of this ministry is the creative expression that God reveals Himself thorough. We marvel at the creativity that participants post with this meme. We encourage the ” post behind the picture,” or the reflections that many of the participants share. We ask that non-biblical resources not be used.

WFW is not about books, authors, artists.. it’s about God and HIS WORD ONLY. WFW is about celebrating the gift of creativity through God’s Word.

    Blessings SUSAN and Amydeanne
(the link for Amydeanne goes to her page but it says Error Code 404)…

WOW! That is one clear foot in God’s direction! Or one great new pair of shoes to fit us towards a disciplined life… “making me fit both today and forever” or better yet, two steps in the right direction :0)
“You can count on this” TAKE IT TO HEART!

So thankful I can count on Him, the Living God, my Savior… I’m destined to walk a disciplined life in 2011, in His Word daily and Breaking Free with Beth Moore… no spiritual flabbiness here, just a weak child in need of her Savior being strengthened by God, His Word, my prayers, His purpose, His Way (not mine)… are you sure all this was in 1 Tim. 4:7?…the Message sure spells this out, I’ll take the NIV short version… “Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives’ tales; rather, train yourself to be godly.” really got me working out already… just thinking about it… I’m worn out.

Thank you for putting our steps in order ~ GOD FIRST!!! Great photo! Great Message! Great purpose…but sorry no resolutions here (lol) Love ya’ both!
    Peace (((hugs)))

What a great illustration for this verse. Nothing like a new year to get me motivated.

I woke up this morning thinking, “I am going to do better at spending time with God and in the Word, starting today.” I decided not to make it a New Year’s resolution but a lifestyle choice. Then your post was right there, encouraging me to do just that. A really good translation, too. I forget the Message Bible sometimes yet it says things just right and so clearly! Thanks for sharing from your heart!!

Just the reminder I need! I have NO choice today and New Year’s because of a recent health diagnosis :( I am also reading Lysa Terkeurst’s book Made to Crave and that has helped so much put my mind on God and not on food. Thank you for sharing!
