If He can transform creation, then why do we ever question that He is ready to do a transforming work in us?
As the leaves began to change outside my window this week, we began to witness the awesome transformation that they undergo to return to their original color. (A refresher course in fourth grade science reminded me that it was the chlorophyll in those leaves that turns them green!)
We too were created for a purpose; to glorify God and glorify God alone. Somehow along the way, we’ve lost our coloring, and yet it dwells deep inside of us. We have, after all the Spirit residing within us…He longs to transform us!
He longs to remove that which taints the “color” that we were created to be! This autumn I see the parallel so clearly in my own life. I have become like the tree which needs to be returned to it’s original state in order for the “true colors” to be witnessed by all! We were created, just as the fall trees, to give glory to the Creator. Isn’t it time for the transformation to begin?! It’s an amazing transformation to watch…in those glorious trees and within ourselves.
(I’m grateful for this image taken by my one and only baby girl, Delaney, who blogs at Got Freckles)
There are very few rules, in fact the b
eauty of this ministry is the creative expression that God reveals Himself through. We marvel at the creativity that participants post with this meme. We encourage the “post behind the picture,” or the reflections that many of the participants share. We ask that non-biblical resources not be used.
WFW is not about books, authors, artists.. it’s about God and HIS WORD ONLY. WFW is about celebrating the gift of creativity through God’s Word.

GLORY Lori and sweet Delaney… left my transformation comment over at ALL YOU HAVE TO GIVE
That is one spectacular photo! Great WORD to ponder and question to think on:
“If He can transform creation, then why do we ever question that He is ready to do a transforming work in us?” I think I’m a bit more complex than the leaf to change. Yet I’m powerless, and I need His Spirit to bring forth fruit!
Love your team work!!! Many rich blessings and warm fall memories, Peggy

Friend, we are like-minded this week!

Lori, as always, you have created a stunning image to correspond beautifully with a powerful verse. I love this.
I just studied this verse and particularly loved the part about the “unveiled faces”. God knows our “unveiled faces” without us having to unveil it but yet He knows that until we unveil it ourselves, the chance for deeper intimacy with Him is just not as great. What a wonderful reminder to get back to our “true colors”. Love that, too!
I’m sending you my bio today – I am sorry it’s so delayed!

What a gorgeous photo from your talented daughter! And such encouragement from the Word of God along with a great devotional for this lovely Autumnal Word-Filled Wednesday, Lori! I was especially struck by your point about the leaves returning to their natural color! Very interesting! I am SOOO looking forward to going home to heaven, with our totally transformed bodies, along with no more tears and no more sorrow, and being a mega autumn lover – now I’m hoping there will be plenty of brilliantly colored leaves up there all year long!

What an Awesome picture! The colors are my favorite! How wonderful it is that God refreshes us with new life! I wanted to take this one step further also. That as we go through the seasons of life (germination et al) and as we journey toward that end – it is still such an amazingly beautiful journey. From Beauty to Beauty to Glory to Glory. Then we move into the Kingdom of God for an eternal bloom!

That is just beautiful, Lori, and thank you for those thoughts. Blessings ~
