“A flatline is an electrical time sequence measurement that shows no activity and therefore when represented, shows a flat line instead of a moving one. It almost always refers to either a flatlined electrocardiogram, where the heart shows no electrical activity (asystole), or to a flat electroencephalogram, in which the brain shows no electrical activity (brain death). Both of these specific cases are involved in various definitions of death. ” (Wikipedia)
Do you ever feel like if someone were to hook you up to a “heart machine“…they would find a “flatline“? Life gets hard. Trials hit. Something “rocks your world”. You are tired…and your “heart” goes flat.
I have felt that way. I know others who have…who DO right at this very moment! So, what do you do? What is there that motivates you to keep pushing through it ALL? What motivates a person to push through when marriage is hard, children rebel, jobs are lost, money is tight, people hurt and disappoint you, you are not happy in your job, or your health fails?
When I take the time to focus on the Cross and remember that all that I do is because of HIM…I can press on.
Being reminded of all that Christ has done for me…that is my motivation.
I am not a “good wife” or “good mom” for my husband and children,
but because of HIM.
I am not a “good employee” for my boss,
but because of HIM.
I do not serve…for the sake of serving,
but because of HIM.
I am not careful with my money because I don’t want to be in debt,
but because of HIM.
When I focus on the cross, it’s as if I am shocked by a defibrillator and my heart starts beating again.
The flatline disappears.
He brings me to life again.
He motivates me.
But when I take my eyes off of Him….
FLATLINE.
And that is my motivation.

Amen, we must press on, staying focused totally upon Him.

Thanks Gina for an encouraging word this morning! If we keep our focus on the Cross, then stuff in our side vision becomes blurry and all we can see is the Cross. May we have life in Him today and not experience flatline!
Blessings on your day!

Simply Perfect!I would fall apart without Him!Amazing that though sometimes it feels like it would take too much energy to lift our eyes and focus, it is our source – why I cannot get that sometimes frustrates me – I know it, but I have trouble plugging in to my Source! Knowing that it is my ONLY source! It is a constant why and a battle but it is a battle worth fighting!
