Boasting over Branches

Consider this…in a world where boasting is commonplace, we are asked to consider the root.

WFW is not about books, authors, artists.. it’s about God and HIS WORD ONLY. WFW is about celebrating the gift of creativity through God’s Word.

Lori MacMath

Lori's daily mantra includes praying, "I will take it Lord, ALL you have to give," and a commitment to live out Colossians 3:17 daily. It's her prayer that the energy that fills her spirit be with her till her dying breath! She lives in the Deep South with her husband of 21 years and her 3 children, where she seeks daily to be creative and use the gifts the Lord has given her. With the heart of an artist and a spirit to live intentionally missional, Lori strives daily to see Him in all that surrounds her. Encouraging women on their daily walk with the Lord is her passion! She attends Vintage 242 church where she is active in women's and children's ministries. Lori can be found daily at her own personal website, "All You Have to Give." http://www.allyouhavetogive.com

    Beautiful graphic!!!
Isn’t it too true, though? I’ve seen this happen a lot: people boasting about what they’ve done, and completely ignoring the fact that without Him we are nothing. Thanks.
    Here’s my word-filled Wednesday.

Isn’t that the truth? This is thought-provoking, but it made me laugh too — at us as humans. We are so arrogant that sometimes we even act as if God needs US. He allows us to participate in this wonderful thing called life, but all the gifts we have are only because He is so generous. That should take us down a few pegs. :)

Lori – I always like your graphics. Yes, it is easy to boast in ourselves, but we must remember that unless we remain tied to the root, we wither and die.

    Blessings,
    Joan

We definitely are too prideful. We should glory in what He has done as He does much more than we can ever do. Thank you for sharing! :D

Oh I’m loving that verse. AND if you think about it, He is the one that gave us the talents that we most often boast about any way.
Oh to humble our hearts before Him and thank Him for all that He’s given us!
    Blessings!

WoW! I loved meditating on this verse…there’s so much meaning and depth. It would be easy to make that a whole topic to write or speak on. God’s Word is so rich and powerful!

    Thanks, Lori!

    Ladies,
This one hit me right between the eyes! It’s easy for me to fall into that place of “boasting” and I pray daily for humility. Marsha you’re right, I do believe there is much more to be said on this…:) I refrained though, not easy for a wordy gal like me! :)

    Peace to you all!
Thank you for joining us this week! What Diving inspiration!

    peace,

What a wonderful way to remind us of this important truth. My grandkids and I had a great time last week singing one of my favorite praise and worship songs, I Will Boast in the Lord my God, so your timing was double perfect for me. :) Thanks for another delightful and encouraging Word-Filled Wednesday.
