Today we will look at the other spiritual discipline I wrote about in last week’s Café Chat question. Last week I wrote, “There are several spiritual disciplines that help us grow closer to Jesus, but I think the two most important disciplines in our spiritual walks are prayer and reading and studying God’s Holy Word. We can grow spiritually through other spiritual disciplines, but without the two disciplines above we will only grow just a little. As Christians we want to bear much fruit for Christ, and grow stronger in our love for Him daily.”
I asked questions about prayer last week, and today I want to ask the same questions about reading God’s Word (Bible). Although I suppose that some of our answers might be similar to last week’s answers, I think there may be some differences with this spiritual discipline.
On a scale of 1-10, with a 10 representing the strongest, rate how you do with reading and studying the Bible. Why did you rate yourself as you did?
If you are struggling with reading God’s Word, make a list of possible stumbling blocks.
Make a list of how we can grow closer to Jesus through the reading and studying of God’s Word.
I am hoping that we will encourage each other again this week through answering this question. Thank you so much for your answers last week; I need to go back and read them again.
